Intake Screener - LVIM

ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Polk

  • 2 people are interested

Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM) is in need of a volunteer Intake Screener. Intake Screeners will interview prospective patients for eligibility of services. A checklist is provided for qualifications and documentation established by the Florida Department of Health. Intake Screener volunteers must be able to explain the required documentation based on the list given. Interviews will be a mix between in-person and via phone.

Intake Screeners have strong communication and listening skills, are detail oriented and organize, have a high degree of patience and compassion, can work independently, and have basic computer proficiency. The pace of workflow changes throughout the day so a volunteer in this position will need to be flexible and adapt as needed. Intake Screeners will be required to complete the Florida Department of Health training module. This position does involve excessive sitting time. LVIM is asking for a commitment of 6 months with a minimum of one shift per week either 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm on any day Monday through Friday.

Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine clinics are community based and provide free healthcare services to uninsured and medically underserved communities. LVIM is led by a few Watson Clinic physicians and the Watson Clinic Foundation and functions primarily by volunteers to meet the healthcare challenges of Lakeland's community in a different way.
