ORGANIZATION: Volunteer Polk

  • 3 people are interested

Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM) is seeking volunteers to complete curbside check-in. Curbside Check-in Greeters welcome and screen any patients needing care for anything related to Covid-19. This will involve taking temperatures, distributing hand sanitizer, ensuring masks are worn properly in the clinic and when interacting with staff/volunteers, and asking standard screening questions. Other duties include handing out patient forms, verifying scheduled appointments upon arrival, receiving incoming packages, and providing directions and general information related to LVIM.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong customer service skills, adapts well to a fast-paced changing environment, performs well under pressure, and effectively communicates with people in a courteous and tactful manner. This position does involve excessive standing and walking time. LVIM is asking for a commitment of 1 month with a minimum of one shift per week either 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm on any day Monday through Friday.

Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine clinics are community based and provide free healthcare services to uninsured and medically underserved communities. LVIM is led by a few Watson Clinic physicians and the Watson Clinic Foundation and functions primarily by volunteers to meet the healthcare challenges of Lakeland's community in a different way.
