Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM) is looking for clinical assistant volunteers to provide physician support services in the clinical area through help with vitals, documentation, and room preparation before and after patient use. A clinical assistant volunteer would record blood pressure, temperature, respiration, height and weight. Additionally, this volunteer would help in documenting the reason for the visit and verifying important data in the patient's electronic record. Room preparation includes disposal of contaminated supplies, sterilization of tools used, and restocking used equipment or supplies.

An LVIM Clinical Assistant Volunteer must have the ability to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with tact and empathy, should be detail oriented and prove to be well organized, and complete LVIM's Biomedical Waste Training Module. A medical background or schooling/training is preferred but not required. This position does involve excessive standing and walking time. LVIM is asking for a commitment of 3 months with a minimum of one shift per week either 8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm on any day Monday through Friday.

Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine clinics are community based and provide free healthcare services to uninsured and medically underserved communities. LVIM is led by a few Watson Clinic physicians and the Watson Clinic Foundation and functions primarily by volunteers to meet the healthcare challenges of Lakeland's community in a different way.
