Be part of a team that serves it's community every single day. In need of Emergency Disaster Responders (EDS) for our Unit 1 in Greentree, Unit 2 in Munhall and Unit 20 in Mon-Valley area. EDS volunteers respond to local diasters, such as fires, floods, search and resue details, etc as a first responders. We support workers and victims on-scene with food, drinks, hot and cold modalities and emotional spiritual care. At minimum we require two on-call shifts a month. Anyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to volunteer, all training is completed while volunteering. This opportunity is wonderful for young adults getting into the field of emergency management, retired fire and police professionals that want to give back and stay active in their field and for anyone who has a desire to support our first responders and victims on disaster scenes! Minimum requirements are: must be able to get in and out of the emergency canteen, be able to carry 15 pounds, able to stand for at least an hour at a time and a have a compassionate heart.

  • Orientation or Training
  • Training would take a single day, for a driver candidate 3 days worth of training. A total of two on-call shifts a month, equaling to 24 hours. Bi-monthly meeting that are 2 - 3 hours long, depening on what speakers or training is offered.
