The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disaster.

What’s DAT? DAT stands for Disaster Action Team. Our Disaster Action Team is an important building block of the Red Cross that works to provide emergency response to local disasters.

As a member of the Disaster Action Team, you will be dispatched onsite to provide the first contact from the American Red Cross. As a team, we have the opportunity to provide support to affected families and connect clients with resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing. Our Disaster Action Team is there 24/7, 365 days a year to help support families going through devastating times.

We understand that it may seem tricky to juggle a busy lifestyle with volunteering. Luckily, DAT members have the freedom to provide their availability for when they are able to respond. Typically, these are 4 hour shifts with the option of signing up for on-call shifts.

We provide online and remote training as well as in-person.

Here at the Red Cross you have the chance to make a difference and to experience a sense of community. We can't wait to hear from you!
