ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Visitor Center Hosts help park rangers greet and orient visitors to Big Bend National Park and Rio Grande Wild & Scenic River. Hosts make sure visitors have a safe, enjoyable visit and know park rules and regulations. Fee collection, permit writing and selling items for the BBNHA bookstore are part of this job.

Hosts work 32 hours per week: three days per week in one of five visitor centers plus one day of project, roving, or learning time. Hosts must furnish their own trailer or mobile home. Electrical, water and sewer hookups are provided free of charge and propane is reimbursed. Laundry facilities are available.
