Join our Volunteer team to help Meals on Wheels in King County fight hunger! As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.
Volunteer Site Coordinator: This volunteer position requires availability for about 2-4 hours, every other week, including two hours at the center every other Friday, before 2PM. In this position, your main responsibilities are to coordinate our wonderful volunteers for the delivery of meals, reaching out to clients who haven’t yet placed orders, checking phone messages, and various office tasks that keep Meals on Wheels humming along on schedule. In a pinch, the Coordinator can fill in for any member of the Meals on Wheels team, including delivering meals to clients. Training for this position is provided. We are looking for someone that is available longer term.
Qualifications: Commitment to the well-being of elders, good communication and people skills, reliability, and good cheer.
Requirements: Complete the Meals on Wheels Volunteer Application, have a valid WA state driver's license, automobile insurance, consent to a Washington State Patrol background check, the ability to lift 15 pounds, and be age 25 or more.

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
