ORGANIZATION: Blind Community Center

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

The current BCC building replaced the original in 2000 and was completely funded through donations from Lions Clubs, generous individuals, and many local organizations. Plaques inside the lobby pay tribute to all donors to whom we are very grateful.

Are you a volunteer handy person who knows how to fix leaky sinks, change lightbulbs, clean ceiling vents, secure signs to exterior of buildings, tighten bolts, repair drywall, do light painting, power wash, do odd jobs and general repairs? The Blind Community Center is looking for a responsible, experienced, versatile, volunteer to join our team of volunteers.

The Blind Community Center of San Diego (BCCSD) is a 501c3 charity that provides a place for blind and low vision people to go for fun, socialization, education and recreation. Our building is 23 years old and is in need of some expert TLC.

Volunteers are the heart of our organization and we could not do what we do without them.

Description

The Blind Community Center (BCCSD) needs you! We give blind and low vision people in our community a place to go every day to relax or just have fun. We have water skiing and surfing in the summertime and activities like karaoke, bingo and cribbage all year long. Social activities help people stay healthy and motivated to live a better life. Our participants look forward to monthly BCC parties and special Holiday events.
