QUICK OVERVIEW

Our nonprofit is looking for a passionate Yoga123 Instructor to join our team and teach in elementary schools!

IMPACT

Our Yoga123 program impacts the lives of up to 35 students per 12-week program by supporting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Yoga123 positively impacts students' attitudes toward themselves, other people, and the world around them. Yoga123 teaches the life skills youth need to help manage the many stresses, challenges, choices, and emotions of adolescence and beyond. Yoga123 instills habit-forming skills such as calm breathwork and breathing techniques, identifying emotions, sharing feelings, moving through challenging situations, and acting with kindness and gratitude.

VOLUNTEER ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Our ideal Yoga123 instructor will be trained by our organization in NO-Charge. We want you to create fun and effective classes using our Yoga123 curriculum. You must be responsive to the needs of our clients/schools and need to be organized, reliable, and able to arrive at all your scheduled classes and appointments on time.

Yoga123 Instructor Duties and Responsibilities.

Get trained to teach our Yoga123 program in a three-hour workshop for free

Get a background fingerprint and TB test

Follow Yoga123 curriculum

Ensure the yoga room is set up and taken down

Pass out and collect pre and post evaluations

Effectively communicate with school and our Yoga123 Director

Lead students on proper breathing techniques and poses

REQUIREMENTS

Yoga123 Instructor Requirements and Qualifications

Be available during school hours and/or after school

Can commit to 2 hours a week for 12 weeks (same time and day)

Drive to the school location in Gardena, Hawthorne, or South Gate

Manage a class of children K-6th grade

Complete our Yoga123 three-hour workshop

Organized, reliable, trustworthy, and on time

Friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills

Background working with children is a plus but not mandatory

Yoga experience a plus but not necessary

Classroom management with up to 35 students per class

Schools are located in Gardena, Hawthorne, and South Gate.
