ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) International Services Department (ISD). This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This role will develop strategy and execute activities to foster and improve workforce culture and engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Workforce Engagement Subject Matter Expert for Senior Director
  • Develop long-term strategies to promote desired culture and increase workforce engagement
  • Develop and execute annual activities to increase workforce engagement and culture
  • Facilitate conversations with team leads to discuss workforce engagement trends and actions
  • Provide team leads with the tools and knowledge they need to foster and promote workforce engagement
  • Based on data and insights, make recommendations to enhance the workforce experience
  • Support Response & Recovery efforts in defining team culture
  • Advise on and execute workforce recognition activities
  • Advise on ways to leverage onboarding and internal communications processes to improve overall workforce engagement
  • Help plan and facilitate in person and virtual team meetings and events, such as team building events

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually
  • Experience developing and/or executing workforce engagement strategies and programs
  • Experience improving team cohesion and work culture in a large, matrixed organization
  • Experience developing or leading individual or team development sessions
  • Ability to engage, influence and negotiate with different stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and creativity
  • Ability to flourish and deliver on projects with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
  • A strong understanding and experience of working in large/matrixed organizations
  • Team and relationship-building, talent management, and succession planning skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Experience facilitating soft skills courses
  • Motivational Speaking experience
  • Meeting Planning experience
