The Cambria Heights Teen Center is looking for someone with experience in sound/audio engineering to guide eager teens interested in exploring careers within the music industry, both in-front of the microphone and behind the scenes.

The Teen Center has a small music studio and recording booth allowing participants the chance to develop needed skills operating a professional sound board and recording audio tracks.

Candidates should possess hands-on experience working with teens and young adults and an in-depth knowledge of operating audio recording, software and equipment.

  • Set up and test sound equipment before events, broadcasts or recordings
  • Record, edit and mix audio tracks (instruments, vocals etc.)
  • Enhance sound quality and add sound effects to recordings
  • Create and maintain sound libraries
  • Resolve technical issues when they arise

This is an in-person project. If approved, you are required to create a library volunteer account, submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, and complete a background screening, and orientation prior to start.

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 21
  • Available 1-2 afternoon per week (M-F) between 3:00pm - 5:30pm
  • Technical expertise in sound engineering techniques (e.g. equalization) Experience with sound editing and recording equipment (e.g. mixing consoles) Working knowledge of recording software and hardware (e.g. Pro Tools)
