Be the volunteer lead that guides 3 other volunteers through the process of preventing food waste at the Hillcrest Farmers Market. You will be engaging with farmers at the Hillcrest Market, and checking in with how much excess produce they have remaining and are willing to donate for the day. Then, you would be responsible for weighing and tracking the produce donated by various farmers. Afterwards, you would help load rescued produce into volunteer drivers' vehicles - who will be transporting donated produce directly to agencies who help to feed the 1 in 4 San Diegans who are currently food insecure.
