Help get folks to and from their medical appointments

Medical appointments can be tiring and difficult to negotiate on your own. Provide older adults in your community with much needed transportation and assistance to and from medical visits. Medical Escorts provide a ride and they can give minimal assistance getting into and out of a car and into the medical facility. Escorts can wait during the appointment (up to 1.5 hours) if needed and then take the individual home. Volunteers must have a car, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record. We support older adults, individuals with disabilities and their caregivers with services and resources that help them be as independent and connected to their community as possible.

Description

Springwell, Inc., a private, non-profit organization, is part of a statewide network of Aging Services Access Points and nationwide network of Area Agencies on Aging that coordinate care services to enhance the quality of life for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families. Services include homemaking, personal care, grocery shopping, home delivered meals, transportation, and more. Volunteers provide vital help delivering meals, doing grocery shopping, visiting with isolated older adults, helping with budgeting and monthly bills, and advocating for those living in nursing homes.
