Summary Resilience, Inc., a non-profit organization, works to improve mental health, reduce mass shootings, suicide, depression, declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues. The organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through 5 core topics: self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting & effective decision-making. Resilience also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, social beings, and overall well-being. Our mission is to set SEL tools at every school in the country. The organization is looking for a Social Change Advocate Intern and offers internship programs in the Outreach department.   • Report to the Director of Outreach
  • Coordinate with the Outreach department to work in developing projects
  • Use your knowledge and experience for SEL promotion
  • Build strong relationships in order to advocate for the SEL curriculum and our potential customers
  • Be creative with a sharp eye for details
  • You are comfortable working with all departments throughout the creative process to meet objectives and timelines.
  • Weekly meetings with your team to delegate tasks and work efficiently
  • 5 hours a week minimum dedicated to our department needs
  • Communicate well based on expectations and needs
  • The outreach department is responsible for reaching every school in the country inch by inch in order to teach SEL to kids. We focus on children’s mental heath and social being and want someone on our team who is driven and passionate about helping to accomplish this goal. We strive to meet deadlines, work as a team and reach as many people as possible, the motto is "no challenge, no change."
Requirements
  • No prior experience needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with artists, designers, and other engineers.
  • Work independently.
  • Ability to work on a team can attend weekly remote meetings.
  • Reliable, punctual.
  • Pay attention to details.
  • Consistently communicate with team members.
  • Process eagerness to learn and an open mind to improve critical skills.
  • Receptive to improving problem-solving skills.
  • Objective learning.
Learning Outcome
  • Interns will demonstrate an understanding of Social Change Advocacy.
  • Interns will improve their skills in creativity, communication, and critical thinking.
  • Interns will gain the ability to collaborate with the Outreach Department.
Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

Mission: We will not stop until SEL is taught, trained, and tested at every school in the country. ___ Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) provides individuals with mental and emotional resilience, self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, strong relationship skills, goal setting skills, effective decision-making skills, motivation, inspiration, determination, empathy, gratitude, and many other impactful life skills. Our mission may take a decade or longer, and many believe it is extremely difficult, near impossible to change the field of education in this manner. Challenge accepted.
