Above anything we need a storage space in Greenpoint for our programs materials. We also could need an office space. We are passively also looking for an indoor space to use this late winter (2023/24) and possibly beyond! It needs to be large enough for a small to medium size group of kids to kick balls around, and is safe for youth development programs. Best if close to public transportation and ground floor or with an elevator. We need a space where it’s ok to be a bit messy with art projects, and where we can be sort of loud and play music. We need a space to call HOME and best where we can store our (donated) supplies. What we do and offer: We are a young nonprofit organization that focuses on inclusion by providing free, volunteer run enrichment programs to children of all abilities and ages in a safe, nourishing environment. We are currently located in northern Brooklyn. We have been operating outdoors in city parks, but with winter coming we need an indoor space where we can hold our programs. Movement, dance, yoga, group games, art, interactive story time, inclusive soccer, music and playABILITY on a rotating basis. With good weather we meet in a public park. We run throughout the school year. We need a space we can store our materials and have a home base. A space where we can run free tutoring programs during midweek, a corner to be used as our office. We ask for a lot: preferably easy access to public transportation, elevator or ground floor, at least 1-2 bathrooms, best if near a public park or with some outdoor space. ...It’s just what would make our kids of all abilities super happy! All our programs are free. Our kids walk home with happier hearts, not feeling isolated or different for one sparkling moment and learning to carry this joy and self confidence gradually further. We can imagine a real estate agent helping us scouting an empty space we can use for free or very low cost. We can provide tax deductible (in-kind) donation forms. We are working on an insurance plan that will protect the space granter. There are so many empty spaces in our city! Who would like to take the lead here and help us landing a home for POW! Shoot us an email! Pow@powlers.org
