Learning changes lives and futures. Share your love of learning by joining Community Education Partnerships’ (CEP) caring team of volunteer tutors at shelters for families in the greater Richmond area. CEP provides tutoring and mentoring to pre-K to 12th grade students experiencing homelessness. CEP Tutors are a consistent and caring presence in the life of our students, fostering a deep love of learning and ensuring that they are set up for academic success.
Tutors are needed for drop in Homework Support and/or one-on-one tutoring.
Drop-In Homework Club
- Weekdays between 6 - 7:30pm
One-On-One Tutoring and Mentoring
- Flexible schedule based you and your student's availability
Safety Information: Social distancing, masks, and enhanced hygiene measures are required. All volunteers must be fully vaccinated. All volunteers must also complete a 2 hour Mandated Reporter Training.

Mission Statement
The mission of Community Education Partnerships (CEP) is to increase the learning opportunities and enhance the academic achievement of students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Bay Area.
Description
The primary function of CEP is to recruit and train volunteers to provide high-quality academic tutoring for children experiencing housing insecurity in the pre-kindergarten - 12th grade school system. Volunteers get matched with a student with whom they meet once per week, typically at a shelter or transitional home.
