Substitute Tutors Needed!

ORGANIZATION: Northstar Tutoring

Northstar Students

For more than 30 years, Northstar Tutoring’s mission has been to help low-income and underserved K-12th grade students in the D.C. area reach their full potential by overcoming barriers to personal and academic success. We achieve this by matching students with their own volunteer tutor/mentor who helps them once a week to complete their homework, study for upcoming tests/quizzes or work on supplemental education materials.

We are always looking for substitute volunteers who are able to come periodically (or regularly!) to fill in for absent volunteers. Substitutes will be paired with a student and help them with their homework and supplemental material, just as their regular tutor would. The benefit of substituting is that it is completely flexible with your schedule. Instead of making a weekly commitment, substitutes let us know which days/times they have a free time to work with a student.

Our locations/times are below - let us know if you are interested in signing up to sub!
