LifeSmart Education is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that enhances the availability of nontraditional educational classes and resources for underserved youth and communities. We help those who need unwavering, positive life management skills. Youth aren't born knowing the life skills that we wish they did; they must be taught and molded into productive members of society. At LifeSmart Education, we teach youth how to be socially and emotionally successful and enable them to achieve their highest potential as law-abiding global citizens.

Summary

LifeSmart Education seeks to foster personal growth and development for young children with our new peer mentoring program. We are giving children aged 13 to 16 an opportunity to interact and listen to guidance from our trained teenage volunteers aged 16 to 18. The young mentors will be sharing their experiences and life tips with their mentees.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Education Specialist volunteer to join our new PeerMentor Program team. The Education Specialist will assist young mentors communicate effectively with their mentees. Additional responsibilities include planning and organizing engaging materials ( ex: online workshops, etc.) for the mentors on a weekly basis.

This volunteer position requires a 3-month commitment (hours are flexible).

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, create, and organize weekly tasks and activities for mentors
  • Create fun and engaging program materials
  • Provide guidance and tips for mentors on effective communication
  • Work collaboratively with LSE staff to achieve program’s objectives and goals
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Curriculum development
  • Leadership skills
  • Digital proficiency
  • Proactive and responsible
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with children or a degree in Education or Psychology

Diversity has been an area of concern in international education for many years, Global Diversity Abroad, our sister company, mission is to present the opportunity for historically over-looked high school students with the possibility to learn on an international platform.
