Summary LifeSmart Education is looking for Board Members to provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. Areas of expertise in either law, accounting, or social media are preferred but not required. The board meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month for 1.5 hours. In the future, the board will only meet once every other month. This role requires 3 years commitment. Board Members Responsibilities Determining how the organization carries out its mission through long and short planning and review Approving the annual budget and providing fiscal oversight Orienting and developing new board members Evaluating the performance of the executive director Evaluating the overall performance of the organization in achieving its mission Establishing policies and procedures to effectively manage the organization Follow the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions Understand and promote the organization’s mission Be familiar with the organization’s programs and operations Participate in resource development and fundraising Make an annual contribution that is commensurate with their capacity Help educate the community on LSE’s mission Review board meeting materials before each meeting Identifying the potential conflicts of interest Maintain confidentiality on all LifeSmart Education’s internal matters For more information please visit our website at https://lifesmarteducation.org/
