ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • Working at the visitor contact station and providing information about the park and surrounding area, answer questions, answer phone or radio, handle lost and found items, and assist visitors in planning an enjoyable and safe stay in the park.
  • Utilize good teamwork abilities with other volunteers, interns, park staff and supervisors. Use only approved NPS materials.
  • Performing compliance checks for payment or site assignments
  • Gathering statistical data on campground usage
  • Roving the campground for minor rule infractions
  • Providing information on recreational opportunities to the public
  • Performing minor campground maintenance projects
  • Informing staff when campground is full or close to full
  • Opening or closing campground facilities as needed
  • Utilize portable park radio communications
  • Various other duties may be performed in the campground based on interest and skills
  • Must adhere to all park policies
  • Recording and/or reporting visitor reports of boat ramp conditions, wildlife sightings, unsafe conditions, and emergencies (including visitor assists, whether medical or law enforcement).
