Do you want to change lives? Don’t look further, join our team of volunteers as a Basic Literacy Tutor!
Basic Literacy Tutors work with students in 1-on-1 sessions or small groups. They are vital in helping native and non-native speakers gain the basic literacy skills they need to succeed! When individuals become literate, they have the power to lift themselves out of poverty, find and keep sustainable employment, and ultimately CHANGE THEIR LIVES. Basic Literacy Tutors meet with their student(s) at library locations around Columbus, Ohio.
With as little as 1 hour a week, you can make a BIG impact on a student's life!

With a focus on excellence, coordinated care and relationship-based case management, CLC offers a spectrum of services from pre-K - Adults and seeks to engage, empower, educate and elevate those we serve.

EMPOWER - Investing in individuals to help them attain diplomas, start and build businesses, learn financial literacy skills, find employment and assistance for New Americans are all services offered to our neighbors to empower them in their quest for a better future.
EDUCATE - Strengthening our community through ESOL, ABE, Basic Computer and Microsoft Training Courses, Language Courses etc., CLC assists individuals in our community on their journey of self-improvement.
ELEVATE - Enriching your life and that of your family, CLC offers homework assistance, summer camp, after- school programs, tutoring, work experience, internships, job shadowing, life skills and career and life/wellness coaching.
