ORGANIZATION: Triumph Foundation

QUICK OVERVIEW

Saturday, October 8, 2022, is Triumph Foundation's 8th Annual Over-the-Line Wheelchair Baseball Tournament at the Barry A. Sanders Sports Field located at Lake Balboa Park 6300 Balboa Blvd. Van Nuys, CA 91316.

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Over-the-Line is a modified baseball game where players form small teams, attempt to hit a ball "over the line" into fair territory without their opponents catching it, and keep score. There will be a bracket where teams will have to win their way to the championship.

IMPACT

Events like this are important for the newly spinal cord injured and paralyzed population because they help them integrate into life after injury. These events are completely volunteer-supported, and the goal is to get people living with disabilities back to being active and show them that their injury does not have to stop them from living a normal and healthy life, meeting people with similar stories, and connecting with the community.

VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This event requires volunteers of all abilities and skill levels. Please check out the volunteer opportunities and sign up for what interests you. Training sessions will be available for all positions. (Some assignments will be given by the volunteer committee where noted.) Some of the jobs include batter helpers, ball shaggers, registration support, and food services. No experience is necessary and we will train.

REQUIREMENTS

A positive attitude is all that is required to volunteer. :)

ACCESSIBILITY

We can accommodate several disabilities.
