SoulPhamm was created in memory of Coach Luis Herrera to provide sports, arts and service activities to young people in New Jersey and New York City. You may learn more about us at

One of our programs is the SoulDeevas' Sorority. It includes young ladies ages 10 to 15 who come together for community service, academic enrichment, networking and social activities.

The group meets virtually (via Zoom) on Friday evenings from 7pm to 8pm from October to May. As part of their pledging process, they learn about Greek Letter organizations within the Divine 9, and other historic service organizations.

We are hoping to have Lecturers come and speak about their membership in their organization. You would speak about what drew you to the organization, why you joined, what your organization does to serve the local and global community and how it has impacted your life. You would then entertain any questions that the girls might have. Our hope is to inspire a continuing love for community service and sisterhood as well as an appreciation for HBCUs and the Divine 9.

You can select any Friday evening (October to May) and would need to be online for about 30 minutes (any time between 7pm and 8pm).

If you are part of an international organization that is not part of the Divine 9 (Eastern Stars, Masons, the Links, etc.), please let us know. Please let us know which organization you would be representing when you reach out.

Many thanks for considering SoulPhamm as the beneficiary of your work and wisdom. No phone calls please.

About SoulPhamm Inc

613 Washington Boulevard, Suite 1129, Jersey City, NJ 07310, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by providing unique artistic and athletic experiences and performances, and to assist them in achieving the highest standards of professionalism through the development of discipline, skill, confidence, cooperation, leadership, responsibility and character.

Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.

SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
