Join First State NHP and The Nature Conservancy on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 10:00 am to noon for an in-person watershed cleanup in First State National Historical Park’s Brandywine Valley unit. Volunteers are needed to help protect the watershed by picking up trash and debris in and around the streams that feed into the Brandywine Creek in First State. Adults, families and groups are welcome but advanced registration is required and will be limited to the first 50 people.
To begin the registration process, please send an email to FirstState@NPS.gov using "Volunteering at Fall Cleanup" in the subject line and providing the following information:
- Name(s) of participant(s)
- Age of participant(s)
- Contact information (email and phone number)
Volunteers will meet in the parking lot of The Pilot School in north Wilmington and will be provided with plastic gloves and trash bags. Please dress for the weather and wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and wet. This event is held rain or shine.
This event is part of the River Days celebration as part of the Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River.
