Overview of Position: Cleaning up trash and debris in office property and parking lot, as well as possibly trimming bushes/tree

Specific Tasks:

1. Cleaning up the outside of TIHAN’s office, including the parking lot, front and side of building, as well as the parking area in the alley behind TIHAN’s office.
2. Picking up trash and debris from the grounds.
3. May include trimming of the tree in front of TIHAN, as well as trimming the bushes and raking the grounds.

1. Ability to work independently or with others in a team setting.
2. Able to avoid and report any hazards or sharp or unsafe conditions.
3. This task can be done on a monthly basis, or as needed.

• Required: Must be 18 years or older. Should be self-motivated, with good attention to detail and ability to closely follow instructions. Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for extended periods of time. Must be in good physical condition and able to stand, bend, squat, stoop, carry, rake, and lift up to 25 pounds. Must be comfortable using gloves during the cleanup, and dress appropriately including wearing sturdy closed-toed shoes and bringing sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), clothing layers for variable weather conditions. If trimming trees/bushes, must have your own needed tools in good working condition and familiar with operating them safely. Understanding and acceptance of the potential risks for this volunteer position such as inclement weather, potentially dangerous wildlife encounters, and injuries resulting from the physical duties associated with working outdoors.
• Preferred: Experience with landscaping or grounds cleanup recommended.
