Making Hygiene Kits for Pathways of Hope
ABOUT THIS REMOTE PROJECT:
Volunteers are needed to create and provide hygiene care kits as Remote Volunteers. The hygiene care kits you make and donate will be distributed to our food distribution and shelter clients. We currently have 60 people living in our shelters, and up to 50 households visiting the HUB in a day. Thank you so much for your help!
ABOUT PATHWAYS OF HOPE:
Pathways of Hope is a nonprofit organization that serves families and individuals throughout North Orange County. For over 47 years Pathways of Hope has been providing food, shelter and support and prevention services to the hungry, homeless and marginalized through assistance of local congregations, volunteers, businesses and grants from foundations and government agencies.
The Pathways of Hope HUB of Hope offers emergency food and hygiene items to homeless and low-income families and individuals as well as a walk-up center for individuals and families seeking housing assistance.

GENERAL INSTUCTIONS:
Collect Items
You can be a bit creative with the items that you use, however, keep in mind that these kits may be carried around everywhere and thus should not be too heavy. Items that are perfect for these care bags are listed below, but you can be creative and choose what you want to include:
Band Aids
Can opener
Chapstick
Comb or small brush
Crackers with peanut butter or cheese
Fruit snack or applesauce cup
Gift certificate to fast food
Granola bar or cereal bar
Hand wipes and hand sanitizer
Lotion
Maxi pads/tampons
Mints, cough drops or gum
Pack of facial tissues
Shampoo/conditioner
Socks & beanie caps
Sunscreen
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Tuna (pop top canned meat) and crackers
Water bottle
Create Bags
Now you are ready to assemble! We recommend placing the items in a large plastic bag, cinch sack or small backpack for easy carrying.
DROP OFF INSTRUCTIONS:
Once the care kits have been completed you are ready to drop them off. If you have a lot of kits, like a trunk or carload, please let Ann Stoddard (astoddard@pohoc.org) know when you want to deliver them so our staff can accommodate the delivery.
Drop off location: Fullerton CA 92832; address will be sent via email.
Days and Times: Tuesdays through Fridays between 9:30-11:30am are preferred!
These are the drop off times that have been created to allow our staff and volunteers to meet the needs of our clients who visit the HUB in the afternoon. Please park and knock on the left blue door and a volunteer or staff member will collect the items.
Your donation will help keep our most vulnerable population be clean and comfortable.
Thank you!
