Food Pickup: Pathways of Hope needs volunteers to pick up food at Whole Foods in Brea on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays and deliver to The HUB of Hope food bank in Fullerton. We expect to need one volunteer for each day on a weekly basis. Our current volunteer took a new job that limits her morning availability. Volunteers need to be an adult aged 18 or older, have their own large car, mid-size SUV, or truck, carry current automobile insurance, be able to lift at least 15 lbs, and wear closed toed shoes. Tasks include driving to local grocery store between 9am-10am, sorting and loading food into boxes, loading food into car, driving to The HUB food bank, and unload food by 11:00am. Would you like to help prepare food for distribution at The HUB of Hope in Fullerton? We have weekly open shifts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30AM-12:00PM. We are seeking volunteers who can commit to a weekly shift and who want to make a significant impact on our participant's lives. Volunteers need to be an adult aged 18 or older, be able to lift at least 15 lbs, and wear closed toed shoes. Tasks include unloading deliveries of food, checking expiration dates, stocking shelves and refrigerators and freezers, breaking down boxes, cleaning the work area, putting up the line stanchions and canopies, and other tasks related to the food bank. We will fit one time volunteers into open shifts that are available until we fill these weekly shifts. Groups of up to 3-5 volunteers are welcome on select days! Volunteers need to be an adult aged 18 or older, be able to lift at least 15 lbs. and wear closed toed shoes. We are seeking weekly volunteers who want to make a significant impact on our participant's lives. Spanish speakers are appreciated, but not necessary. Tasks include helping with client registration, assisting clients to select shelf stable & fresh food, breaking down boxes, cleaning the work area, putting away the line stanchions and canopies, and other tasks related to the food bank.
