Interacting with a friendly animal has the power to rekindle happy memories of beloved pets and provide joy and comfort, especially to those dealing with a life-limiting condition. Pet therapy sessions are casual interactions of specifically trained volunteer/animal teams with a patient for comfort or recreation. Those interested must be a Certified Pet Therapist registered with a recognized Pet Therapy organization that provides insurance. Pet Therapy certification training is not provided by HMH.

Hackensack Meridian Hospice serves patients wherever they call home. Visits are typically 1-2 hours once a week based on your schedule within a manageable commute. Volunteers are provided a thorough orientation free of charge. For more information, contact Hospice.Volunteer@HMHN.org.
