Interacting with a friendly animal has the power to rekindle happy memories of beloved pets and provide joy and comfort, especially to those dealing with a life-limiting condition. Pet therapy sessions are casual interactions of specifically trained volunteer/animal teams with a patient for comfort or recreation. Those interested must be a trained handler and have a Pet Therapy certified dog registered with a recognized Pet Therapy organization that provides insurance. Pet Therapy certification training is not provided by HMH. Please reach out to learn more about becoming a Pet therapy volunteer.

Haven Hospice, a member of the Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH) family, serves patients wherever they call home in Middlesex, Somerset, and Union Counties. Volunteers are provided a thorough orientation free of charge. For more information, contact for more information.

Current precautions: COVID-19 vaccination is required.
