Sanctuary Hostel is a project to create an animal shelter/ hostel/ community garden where we will work with other nonprofits in both Mexico and the US. Our model plans to be self-sustaining in that we will not rely solely on donations but also be supported by income from the Hostel. We have the land and are working with an architect to design custom buildings.

We are looking for a few Public Relations Volunteers to develop our public image and raise awareness for our mission. Volunteers must be reliable, communicative, and passionate for our cause. A bonus if you have experience writing, storytelling, managing projects or events, and/or fundraising! Responsibilities could include:

  • Maximize Sanctuary Hostel brand presence on various channels (e.g. web, TV and social media)
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media and influential professionals
  • Arrange interviews and press releases to promote Sanctuary Hostel’s mission and its efforts
  • Ensure brand consistency in all efforts
  • Organize PR events to increase awareness of our organization
  • Recruit and assign tasks and projects to other volunteer PR team members (as needed)
  • Report on PR efforts’ results

  • Shall sign a volunteer agreement upon joining the volunteer team.

  • Use clear and direct communication using compassion and respect. Ensures cohesion and effectiveness by driving integrity and openness.

By combining a hostel with the opportunity to volunteer with animal rescue, we offer you a place to stay, to help, and to learn about animals so enriching all our lives. You’ll also be able to give back and volunteer with animal rescue teams.

Description

We are building an animal shelter/ hostel/ community garden. Our model aims to be self sufficient so we wont rely on donations in order to care for the animals we rescue. Travelers can stay and volunteer with us in exchange for a bed. The community can learn to grow and cook plant based meals with us.
