The Sacramento Valley Historical Railways offers a hands-on opportunity to experience and learn about the railroad history of the Sacramento Valley. Established as an organization in 1982 to restore Southern Pacific steam locomotive 1233, the Sacramento Valley Historical Railways has since saved and restored the Historic Woodland Southern Pacific Depot which houses a museum dedicated to the railroad history of the Sacramento Valley. Also on display at the depot are steam locomotive 1233, Southern Pacific caboose 1156, and Spreckels locomotive 50. Please join us in preserving our local railroad history!
