Purpose: To staff the Historic Woodland Train Depot and grounds when open to the public and provide visitor services to guests.

1. Work various assignments including ticket taking, crowd directing, cashiering, staffing exhibits, and conducting tours.
2. Assist with set up and take down for events.
3. Learn about the history of the Sacramento Valley Historical Railways, Historic Woodland Train Depot, and the SVHR museum collection.
4. Learn about the railroad history of the Sacramento Valley.
5. Learn about general railroad procedures.
6. Wear identifying clothing such as SVHR nametag, hat or shirt, and on some occasions, an appropriate railroad uniform or historic costume.
7. Talk about and answer questions about SVHR, the Historic Woodland Train Depot, the SVHR museum collection, railroad history of the Sacramento Valley and railroading in general.
8. When conducting tours for schools, use a curriculum developed for such tours.
9. Keep in mind the safety of the participants and the protection of the items in the museum collection.
10. If a visitor expresses an interest in joining SVHR, give them a membership brochure and application, and refer their name and contact information to the Membership Coordinator (Membership Committee Chair)
11. If a visitor expresses an interest in donating an item to the SVHR museum, refer their name and contact information to the Museum Curator (Collection Committee Chair).
