The role of our mentors is to establish a healthy, supportive friendship with a woman survivor on the journey to restore her life.

We provide initial and ongoing training and support to all of our volunteer mentors to ensure they are both competent and confident to serve in this vital capacity. The commitment and time required to volunteer as a Poiema Sister-Support Mentor includes engaging in weekly contact via calls, texts, visits, and or outings 1-2 hours per week.

Poiema is a movement to restore women from brokenness. We stand in the gap for women affected by substance abuse, incarceration, intimate partner abuse, trafficking, homelessness, or other major life crisis. We see a world where every woman is valued, purposed, and empowered.

Description

Our 12-month restorative program provides a safe place to live, mentorship, resiliency groups, recovery groups, and assistance to obtain employment, to help women survivors live a transformed, restored, and independent life.
