Help us reach more Veterans, their families, and caregivers to raise awareness of issues they may have earned benefits and other help for.
- Working with the Founding Director, the Event’s Coordinator, and other team members, identify Veteran and related events for our, Know A Vet?, participation in the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Communicate with event hosts to determine specifics of our participation according to event type. If there is a fee involved, make sure to get approval.
- Help with the planning of our participation in identified events.
- Using our 'Material Checklist for Events’, Identify materials, equipment, etc. needed for each event. Arrange for delivery, setup, takedown, cleanup, and return of materials and equipment.
- Identify staffing needs. Work with the Volunteer Coordinator to arrange for and schedule volunteers to staff the event. Ensure volunteers understand our 'do you know a Vet?’ approach to interacting with event attendees. Overbook volunteers, as we assume a 30% "no show".
- Help prepare event materials, handouts, etc. as needed.
- Ensure a lead volunteer attends each event to oversee activities.
- Ensure compliance with event host’s rules, requirements, and guidelines.
- Monitor registration and track RSVPs when required for events, answer questions and resolve issues as needed.
- Track expenses. Obtain receipts.
- Maintain event notes to assist with future event planning.
- Develop positive relationships with event hosts.
- Drive our mission at every event: Attract | Inform | Connect. "Do You Know A Vet?"
