Gotham Food Pantry, a nonprofit advancing food justice by establishing food rescue operations in New York City public housing complexes, is building Food Rescue Teams to partner with NYCHA tenant associations throughout Upper Manhattan and the Bronx in order to expand nutritious food access for NYCHA residents and neighbors.
Food Rescue Teams will work in conjunction with Gotham's operations team and NYCHA tenants associations to source excess food from local retailers, transport food on a recurring schedule, and administer surveys among NYCHA residents to gauge the impact of Gotham's efforts.
Bothin-person and remote opportunities are available.

Description
Gotham Food Pantry is a food justice nonprofit that establishes food rescue operations in communities facing high food insecurity, with a focus on low-income public housing complexes throughout New York City. Founded at the onset of COVID-19 to address the unprecedented food insecurity facing New Yorkers, Gotham Food Pantry's initiatives include establishing community fridges, sourcing food for retailers who historically discard their waste, and promoting wellness events that provide opportunities to historically marginalized communities. Gotham envisions a New York City where food security is a way of life for all citizens. If this vision resonates with you, please join our mission.
