Thomas and his friends from the Isle of Sodor will take over the San Diego Model Railroad Museum on Saturday, August 19! Guests scout for Thomas and his friends around the museum in a scavenger hunt, get creative at arts & crafts, and watch Thomas trains make their way around their model railroad exhibits. Enjoy live music and movement sessions, courtesy of Songbirds Music.
Volunteers will assist with crafting tables, including set-up and helping children with their crafts. Volunteers will also hand out scavenger hunts, greet people as they enter the event, and maintain a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. At the end of the event, volunteers will assist with cleanup.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Attire: Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. This event takes place indoors.
Physical Requirements: The museum is able to make reasonable accommodations for volunteers with physical limitations. The project space is wheelchair accessible.
Photos: Volunteers may take photos of themselves or museum layouts only, and not of the museum guests.

The mission of the San Diego Model Railroad Museum is to research, collect, preserve and present the heritage of American railroading using educational programs, displays, toy trains, and scale models of California railroads.
