ORGANIZATION: I'RAISE Girls & Boys International Corporation

Be a part of our See Her Be Her Coaching Program at I'RAISE! Let's empower young black girls in our communities.

The Coaching program for Black girls was an initiative developed and designed by the founder and CEO of I'RAISE Shanequa Moore. The purpose of the coaching program is to target the unique needs that Black girls face and to deter the focus off Black girls is to devaluing their experience.

The concept of the See Her Be Her:

  • Recognizes that Black girls are often invisible and ignored in society
  • Black girls deal with intergenerational trauma stemming from Slavery in America
  • Black girls have the lowest life outcomes of all other girls
  • Black girls face higher rates of self-esteem and identity issues
  • Black girls face a poor sense of self stemming from slavery in America
  • It's important to give them a space to work through this trauma and heal.
