LEDI is a 501 (C)(3) international, nonprofit organization comprised of ordinary people with an extraordinary mission to reduce poverty and change lives of severely impoverished people, with an emphasis on Liberia, West Africa. For over 14 years we have been giving hope and transforming lives and we need your help with telling our story.
LEDI is currently seeking a dynamic, experienced and resourceful volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in securing financial support for our mission to empower communities in Liberia through sustainable economic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and identify new grant opportunities, as well as manage existing grants.
- Develop compelling grant proposals and applications that align with LEDI’s mission and program goals.
- Collaborate with team members to gather necessary data and insights for grant applications.
- Ensure all grant submissions meet deadlines and comply with funding agency requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of grant applications, reporting, and outcomes.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on grant expenditures and program impact.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding.
- Strong research skills and the ability to identify relevant grant opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling.
- Knowledge of nonprofit funding landscape, particularly in international development and economic initiatives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

LEDI's mission is to reduce poverty and improve the lives of Liberians living in extreme poverty. Today, Liberia remains one of the few countries in the world without a single modern public library and technology center. With an illiteracy rate of over 50% (70% among girls) this must change. LEDI flagship project, currently underway, is to construct the first modern public library and technology center in Liberia. With your help, we can achieve this goal! Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) is a US-based, 501 (c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization with an international focus providing life changing literacy, economic development and humanitarian programs and interventions to disadvantaged people in Liberia, West Africa, which is the fourth poorest country in the world. Since 2007, LEDI has provided over 750 educational scholarships and empowered countless individuals and communities through economic development and humanitarian relief.
