Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI) has a mission of improving the lives of impoverished Liberians, who have been doubly burden by years of chronic poverty, following a 15 year civil war and the recent West African Ebola epidemic. Donations are pooled and used annually for educational scholarships for impoverished children, vital medical and relief supplies, micro-business grants and to fund our flagship modern public library project.
Liberia Economic Development Initiative (LEDI)is a Cleveland, Ohio based 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit organization, with an international focus, founded in 2007 by Rufus and Joanne Darkortey, Co-Founders. LEDI's mission is to promote positive change in the lives of impoverished people through eduction scholarships, literacy campaigns and economic development.
