By now the trees, ferns and many other native plants at Hannabrook are thirsty again! Let’s get them through the summer with a final drink of water! Watering is an important part of the restoration process because it ensures plants are able to survive the higher temperatures in the summertime. If there’s time, we will continue with the removal of blackberries!

Learn more about the Green Everett Partnership

The Green Everett Partnership is a community stewardship program that focuses on the care and stewardship of local forested parks in Everett. This program formed in 2012 as a partnership between the City of Everett, Forterra, and community partners. Our vision is to have healthy forested parklands supported by an aware and engaged community. We host volunteer events that are open to the public, where anyone interested in spending some time outside in their community can help care for their local park.

About Forterra

Mission Statement

Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.

Description

Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
