We are seeking canine, feline friends and their owners to share share their companionship with our hospice patients, and families. The opportunity to provide the gift of presence through pet therapy is a proven smile-maker. We love to see the job on our patient faces when they see a four-legged friend prance down the hall into to see our patients, and families. Pets help patients, and family members shed anxiety, fear, and loneliness. Many of our patients are isolated because of COVID restrictions, and the joy of a pet visit
We also have a need for dog walkers to provide support for patients and families who are unable to walk their favorite animals. This opportunity could be scheduled around both the patients, families and volunteer availability.
We provide caring, compassionate end-of-life care to patients and their family throughout the Lehigh Valley area. Our patients reside in skilled nursing, assisted facilities, and personal residences.
A through training is provided free of charge. We also require a background check (free of charge), 2-step TB testing (free of charge), and COVID vaccination.
Please contact Kathleen OConnor for further information. She can be reach through either phone calls (610-266-0134) or by email kathleen.oconnor@promedica.org.
