We are currently looking for office volunteers needed for our Allentown location! Our office team members provide a friendly and supportive atmosphere! The opportunities for office work can include filing, copying, mass mailings, computer support, answering phones, documentation preparation, and more. The volunteer opportunity doesn't require administrative experience we will provide support and training for any projects within the office. The office hours are 8:30 am through 5:00 pm. Hospice Volunteers have big hearts and a desire to give back to their community. This opportunity could potentially bring to the volunteer a sense of satisfaction which comes through helping others. We offer flexible opportunities to work around your busy schedule. We provided many opportunities to help you find the area of service that is uniquely suited to your talents and interests. A patient support volunteer will be assigned to patient with whom they will meet for support visits. The volunteer during these visits may listen to music, read a book or just sitting quietly holding the patient's hand. The volunteer could also offer some respite care to relieve a family caregiver for an afternoon appointment. Service and support is often in the patient's home and can be extended to skilled nursing centers, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. There is comprehensive training is offered and can be suited to meet your scheduling needs. The opportunity for patient support can make a huge difference to someone who would be otherwise alone. We are seeking canine, feline friends and their owners to share share their companionship with our hospice patients, and families. The opportunity to provide the gift of presence through pet therapy is a proven smile-maker. We love to see the job on our patient faces when they see a four-legged friend prance down the hall into to see our patients, and families. Pets help patients, and family members shed anxiety, fear, and loneliness. Many of our patients are isolated because of COVID restrictions, and the joy of a pet visit We also have a need for dog walkers to provide support for patients and families who are unable to walk their favorite animals. This opportunity could be scheduled around both the patients, families and volunteer availability. We provide caring, compassionate end-of-life care to patients and their family throughout the Lehigh Valley area. Our patients reside in skilled nursing, assisted facilities, and personal residences. A through training is provided free of charge. We also require a background check (free of charge), 2-step TB testing (free of charge), and COVID vaccination. The is an opportunity to use your crafting skills to help others ! ProMedica Hospice is seeking volunteers to work from home on crafts to help support our hospice patients, and families. We are seeking help with the following projects: Memory bears and pillows out of patients' clothing for family members Crochet or knit lap blankets Activity blankets/busy blankets (creative freedom sewing project) Painting/ drawing landscapes/scenery, still life to brighten patients' rooms Painting / drawing portraits to be given as gifts to family members as a way to remember their loved one Photography-of patients, family members, to help offer connection Any other creative gift you are willing to offer ! No matter your skill or level, your craft will be greatly appreciated and find a loving home with a patient on ProMedica's hospice services.
