Gender Freedom Society is currently searching for an experienced Grant Manager and Writer who will facilitate the success of the organization’s foundation development-related activities.

Primary Objective:

  • To partner with the Development Director and Leadership Team to successfully meet our organization’s immediate and long-term grant and foundation-related development goals, with a primary focus on sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Grant Writing program development.
  • Work with Leadership team to develop, set, and monitor all organizational grant planning and goals.
  • Manage the organization’s grant and foundation pipeline, and research new prospects.
  • Manage, cultivate, and grow relationships with new and existing grantors, including grant acknowledgments and recognition.
  • Work with Leadership team and Program Staff to determine appropriate programmatic and operational grant targets and proposals.
  • Serve as the lead grant writer for organizational grants and proposals.
  • Review and coordinate the creation of appropriate grant proposal budgets and financial reporting in partnership with the Finance team and Program Staff.
  • Manage outside contracted grant writers and coordinate internal staff to support grant writing needs.
  • Lead all interim and final reporting processes for the organization’s grants and work closely with the Program Staff and Leadership Team to accurately report on grant deliverables and objectives.
  • Manage the grant acceptance process in coordination with Finance team and Program Staff, including preparing and executing grant and partner agreements.
  • Oversee the organization’s grant management system to ensure grantor requirements are met and when necessary secure approval for grant or budget amendments during the grant period.
  • Manage a calendar for deliverables throughout the grant cycle; maintain grant related database and records, including organized filing of proposals, reports, and donor communications.
  • Report on grant and foundation metrics, goals, and progress in partnership with Executive Director.
  • Supervise a small Grant Writing team, including conducting regular check-in meetings, helping set goals and strategy, reviewing work products, and providing general guidance.

Qualifications:

  • 1 -2 years grant-related development and fundraising experience, preferably in the nonprofit or philanthropic (with proven record of success grant writing and management)
  • Minimum of 1- 2 years of technical, business and/or grant writing experience.
  • Effective project management skills with ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • 1-2 years of personnel/program management experience
  • Exceptional written virtual and interpersonal communication skills, including excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as a keen attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Affairs, Nonprofit Administration, Communications, Marketing, Arts Administration, or similar fields- though degrees or certificates in other areas are welcome.
  • Strong fiscal management and budgeting skills.

Job Type: Unpaid Volunteer, 1 - 3 hours per week

Schedule: Flexible

Work Location: Remote
