Gender Freedom Society is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to fill the role of Onboarding Manager. This position is vital in ensuring that volunteers are smoothly integrated into the organization, equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources to contribute effectively. The Onboarding Manager will oversee the onboarding process for all volunteers and manage a team of Volunteer Coordinators. They will work closely with various departments to ensure that volunteers are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding processes including e-learnings, other various training and procedures for volunteers, ensuring a positive and seamless experience.
  2. Collaborate with department heads to identify volunteer needs and develop onboarding materials tailored to specific roles and responsibilities.
  3. Manage a team of Volunteer Coordinators, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure effective execution of onboarding activities.
  4. Conduct orientation sessions for new volunteers, providing information about the organization's mission, values, policies, and procedures.
  5. Coordinate training sessions for volunteers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  6. Monitor the progress of new volunteers during the onboarding period, providing support and guidance as needed to address any challenges or concerns.
  7. Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers throughout the onboarding process, answering questions, providing assistance, and fostering a positive volunteer experience.
  8. Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, including contact details, training completion, and assignments.
  9. Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinators to evaluate volunteer performance and provide feedback to department heads as needed.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve the onboarding process based on feedback from volunteers and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience in volunteer management or onboarding, preferably in a nonprofit or similar setting.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of Volunteer Coordinators.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and volunteer management software.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an understanding of issues related to gender diversity and social justice.
  • Passion for the mission and values of Gender Freedom Society, with a desire to make a positive impact in the community.

As a community, GFS provides a safe-space for members to meet other like-minded folks from around the world, engage in peer-to-peer counseling, and be seen and heard for who they truly are. GFS is a resource of information for the Trans/GNC community, to include providing educational resources, local gender-affirming services locations, and local trans-friendly businesses. GFS participates in national and local social activism, and provides space for members to actively plan for activism in their communities.
