Our Care Buddies are fighters on the frontlines of disability justice. They are breaking down barriers, showing up authentically, and changing minds.

Welcome to Limitless, where you can meet our clients every weekday, 8-5. When you come, you won't hear typical speech patterns. Instead, you will hear each individual express themselves uniquely. You won't see people moving about in usual ways. You will see folks rolling on wheelchairs, rocking as they read, and flapping their hands when they are happy. You won't hold many typical "Hi, how are you?" conversations, but you will feel a very genuine, fulfilling connection.

Our clients have Down Syndrome, Autism, and other intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD). But just because they have a diagnosis does not mean they are any less unique, curious, or hopeful about their future than you are. Like you, they also are working towards goals and trying to build new skills. Like you, they love meeting new people and making friends.

When you volunteer--whether you're tossing a ball, making art, or doing zumba with your new friends--you're changing the statistics. You're changing minds. You're challenging the status quo. Many adults with IDD live in a separate world from those without disabilities. When you come in, you are building a bridge between the disabled and non-disabled worlds.

Whether you come once this year or every week for a month, your time here will transform you into someone with a deeper understanding of the difficulties that some people and communities face. No matter where you go, you will bring this experience with you into the world. You will become a disability advocate and ally.

About Limitless Disability Services

Location:

120 Arnold Mill Park, Suite 300, WOODSTOCK, GA 30188, US

Mission Statement

At Limitless, we believe every individual deserves independence and inclusion in a safe and loving environment. The day program gives special needs adults the ability to be independent and grow as an individual through community support and activities.

Description

At Limitless Disability Services, we believe in the innate potential of every person.

Our founder, Paige, started our day program for adults with special needs in a donated spare church room. During the pandemic. Without financial backing or debt. With a team of one other person. Why? Because she had a vision for a community where adults with disabilities could make friends, learn new skills, and go on outings into the community. She had a vision for the next level of integration for the disability community. When you think of a special needs day program, you might think of a boring, slow, and sterile center. That's a myth we challenge. Our program is full of individuals with unique personalities, interests, and skills. Whether you enjoy hands on activities with individuals or doing more strategy and communications, we are looking for your unique contribution.

Regardless of your ability, we invite you to join us to make the Cobb and Cherokee area a more integrated, safe, inclusive, and loving place for adults with disabilities. Our volunteer program is flexible and adaptable. We want to meet you where you're at so you can help us meet special needs adults where they're at.
