Position Title: Boarding Dog Buddy

Position Description: Boarding Buddies visit dogs at boarding facilities and take them out for walks, field trips, and use other forms of exercise & enrichment under strict adherence to boarding team guidelines and training. Buddies will also help promote the dogs by taking pictures & videos of dogs they work with and sharing on social media.

Qualifications for Position: Successful completion of pre-qualification questionnaire, on-line training certification from Maddie’s Fund, and boarding dog team in person training all required (no exceptions) prior to joining team. Volunteers MUST have the physical ability to handle/walk boarding dogs (most of which are large dogs, and some pull strongly on leash) and attend events with them as needed. Some dogs and/or locations may require differing levels of physical ability, training, and experience. Some dogs may also require the volunteer to read documentation of the dog's behavioral issues/history and sign a waiver in order to handle the dog. Volunteers are highly encouraged to use Facebook, as the team is Facebook based for team info and updates.

Availability needed: Flexible, to remain active on the team, 1 to 2 visits per month minimum and a commitment to at least three months' participation are required. Participation is evaluated quarterly by the team lead and facility liaisons.

PLEASE NOTE : Current locations Sugar Hill, Johns Creek and Kennesaw, Geogia. We urgently need WEEKDAY volunteers available Monday through Friday in ALL locations. (Evening hours are not available.)
