Position Title: Facebook Engager Position Description: Volunteers reply to comments from fans on Angels posts on Angels public Facebook page. They engage our Facebook followers and commenters by thanking them for donations, responding to questions, and directing their inquiries to the appropriate team/email. Qualifications for Position : Phone/Computer and Internet access needed. Need to be computer-savvy. Must be able to access and use Facebook. Must be able to use word or another office system and copy and paste templates into emails and add attachments to emails. Must be detail-oriented, organized and dependable. Training will be provided. Team Description: Urgent Post Team is responsible for raising funds, finding fosters, and engaging fans on AAUPR’s main Facebook page.

As a foster based rescue, Angels Among Us does not currently have a physical facility. Our rescued dogs and cats stay in foster homes until they get adopted. Our administrative volunteers and most of our creative volunteers work from home. As long as you have a smartphone/tablet/computer and Internet access, you can be an administrative or creative volunteer from anywhere in the country! We must have a foster in place to save a dog or a cat. We are in DESPERATE need of fosters who can foster large dogs, fosters who have no other pets, fosters who can handle medical needs dogs and fosters for pregnant dogs and puppies. In addition, our cat program needs fosters for kittens, cats, and feline medical cases. We always need fosters for older cats. In all cases, we need fosters who can commit to fostering until the dog or cat is adopted. Team Description: This team handles medical care for foster cats including answering emails from fosters and setting appointments with Angels partner vets. Position Title: Cat Vet Care Coordinator Position Description : Answer emails from cat fosters about vetting. Follow protocols to determine the need for an appointment. Make calls to vets to schedule appointments and confirm appointments with fosters via email. Send records to vets for scheduled appointments. Record appointments in database. Research vet records for foster or adopters seeking basic information (shot due dates, etc.). Escalate tough questions etc. to Cat Vet Team Lead. Qualifications for Position: Must have phone and internet access. Need to be computer-savvy. Internet for Cloud based database (iShelters), Must be able to work with Google apps: Gmail, Docs, sheets, and maps. Must be able to use word or another office system and copy and paste templates into emails and add attachments to emails. Need to be able to convert documents to a single PDF - so it can be uploaded to iShelters database. (There are free options available). Must be detail-oriented, organized and dependable. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Must be good at handling emails and calm under pressure. An observation period and initial and ongoing training and support will be provided for volunteers . NOTE: volunteers will be subject to some occasional graphic emails and pictures including vomit, feces, and worms. Availability needed: Currently seeking volunteers for weekday shifts. The vet team works 7 days a week 8am to 6-7pm EST Monday through Friday and 9am till 4pm EST on Saturday and Sunday. The weekday shifts are split between two volunteers normally - one taking the 8am to 1pm EST slot and one taking the 1pm to 6-7pm EST slot. Must be able to commit to at least one 5 hour shift a week, prefer volunteers that can take at a minimum of two ½ day shifts which can be different days. There is a requested 30 minute or less response time to emails from fosters during shifts. These emails can be as simple as saying, let me check and get back to you. The team scheduler asks for availability the week before and sends out a schedule of shift coverage before the next week begins to help keep the team organized. Schedules can vary availability. Vet team members are encouraged to help each other and trade shifts if needed.

Transporters for Dogs and Cats Team Description: Transport dogs (occasional cats) from Shelters to Veterinary offices. Occasional requests from foster to foster or from vet office or other transport needs such as media appearances. Many requests are during weekdays and are for long distance drives to rural shelters. Position Title: Transporter Position Description: Transport dogs or cats mainly from Shelters to Veterinary offices. Occasional transports from foster to foster, foster to vet, etc. Qualifications: Car and current driver’s license. Must be able to print forms and scan and email or fax to transport team. Must be able to take pictures of transported animals with phone. Experience handling dogs. Must be 21 or older. NOTE: Must take Maddie’s Fund Online Course for Certification Prior to Transporting. Volunteer Coordinator will supply details. Availability: Flexible. Volunteers only respond to the requests they can do. Many requests are during weekdays and are for long distance drives to rural shelters. Transporters are encouraged to do as many transports as they are comfortable doing. You can foster and/or be on other teams and also sign up to transport.

Team Description: Urgent Post Team is responsible for raising funds, finding fosters, and engaging fans on AAUPR’s main Facebook page. All posts must be within posting guidelines and meet the standards necessary to continually improve AAUPR’s online presence. Position Title: Urgent Post Writer Position Description: Volunteers will write urgent posts for the dogs we are trying to save. These dogs are being pulled from shelters and other situations and need funds and fosters. These posts encourage our social media supporters and the general public to become part of the rescue and contribute to saving lives. If you are a great storyteller, your post will give a picture of the conditions so many unwanted, and many times, injured dogs find themselves in. You will be a huge part of the journey from shelter to foster to fur-ever home! A post that is engaging enough to bring badly needed donations, foster offers, and shares could make all the difference in the life of a dog and for AAUPR who relies on social media engagement to save the dogs and cats that need us. Qualifications for Position : We need creative writers who can close their eyes and Imagine being a dog in need of rescue. Urgent post writers must be able to convey the many situations our Angel dogs find themselves in before rescue to the general public in a convincing and creative manner. Technical writing is needed but urgent posts need to be emotive in nature. Many of our posts are written in the dogs’ voice and through their perspective. Volunteers will be asked to provide a writing sample and training will be provided.
