Team Builder Group

ReStores

  • What are they? Home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home decor, appliances, building materials, light fixtures, and more to the public at discounted prices
  • Locations: Portland, Beaverton, & Gresham
  • Availability: 9am-6pm; Any day of the week!
  • Tasks: painting, landscaping, organizing shelves, pricing donated items, rearranging/putting together furniture, and more
  • Group Size: 5-10 volunteers
Simpli Home
  • What is it? Simpli Home donates ready to assemble, real wood furniture to Habitat. Their belief is that everyone should be able to afford to acquire the furniture to which they aspire.
  • Location: 12413 NE Marx St, Portland, OR, 97230
  • Availability: 7am-4pm; Tuesday-Thursday & Saturday
  • Task: Assemble and build Simpli Home furniture to be sold on our online store and in the ReStores. These are brand-new pieces of furniture that we pre-assemble as a courtesy to our customers.
  • Group Size: 10-15 volunteers

Build Sites
  • Are any skills required? No experience is needed to volunteer on a build site! We will teach you everything you need to know.
  • Locations: Alder Commons (Hillsboro)
  • Availability: Tuesday-Thursday
  • Tasks: Anything & everything it takes to build a home such as framing, siding, painting, floor trim, cleaning, and more
  • Group size: 10 volunteers


**All volunteers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to participate (boosters not required)

Description

Habitat for Humanity Portland Region serves Multnomah County, east Washington County, and northern Clackamas County and has the ability to reach out to families one step away from homelessness. Habitat sells homes to hardworking people in need of decent, affordable housing. We are an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-denominational Christian housing ministry and global home-building movement. We welcome people from all walks of life to partner with our program to serve families in need with generosity, humility, and love.
