Norfolk County RSVP seeks social volunteers age 55 or older, to work on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons at the Jamaica Plain VA accompanying veterans to medical appointment and visiting with them while they wait.
Shifts are for 3 or 4 hours. Also Volunteer Ambassadors are needed to welcome Veterans at the front desk & offer direction & assistance; volunteer for a 4 hour shift Mondays - Thursdays afternoons. Enjoy a lunch or dinner on a 4 hour shift. Mileage reimbursement is available.
Norfolk County RSVP is an AmeriCorps Seniors Program sponsored by the Norfolk County Commissioners, placing adults age 55+ into a variety of volunteer positions.

Norfolk County RSVP has volunteer opportunities for people aged 55 & over in 28 cities and towns at over 50 volunteer sites. Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
