ORGANIZATION: HERS Breast Cancer Foundation

HERS Breast Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been in continuous operation since it was established in 1998. Its mission is to support all individuals healing from breast cancer by providing post-surgical products and services regardless of financial status. Mission fulfillment is achieved through its assistance programs which provide products such as breast forms (prostheses), specialty bras, compression garments, and wigs.

This work is supported via foundation grants, individual donors, and fundraising events. One of our fundraising events is our annual Walk/Run/Yoga Fundraiser that will be held at Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont, California on September 24, 2022.

We would greatly appreciate your support by volunteering for the following duties as listed below in (3) shifts. Volunteers will be given a barbecue lunch that will have vegetarian options. If a volunteer wanted to participate with a particular group to walk or run course that can be arranged as well after your scheduled shift.

List of Duties include:
  • Welcoming Participants
  • Registration
  • Setting Up (Tables, Chairs, Pop-Up Tents)
  • Taking Down (Tables, Chairs, Pop-Up Tents)
  • Assisting in Barbecue area/Food Prep
  • Parking Volunteer
  • General Clean Up
  • Floaters
  • Water Station
We couldn't do such events without wonderful volunteers!

We are first and foremost a service for women and women’s health. Our programs enunciate and further fulfill the mission of the foundation to serve all women, including the underserved, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our programs are a service designed to help patients overcome the devastating emotional and physical effects of breast cancer treatment. We provide a safe, compassionate environment for breast cancer survivors to be properly fitted for bras, prostheses, lymphedema garments, and wigs. The service and the products of HERS Breast Cancer Foundation are vital to breast cancer patients’ physical and emotional healing.
