Have you taught fitness? Do you enjoy volunteering in group settings? Brighten the lives of older adults!

Older adults attend Fairfax County Senior Centers to connect, socialize, move, create, and learn. These programs are highly reliant upon volunteers to help instruct or lead groups, or assist with activities.
Provide volunteer support to center participants in any number of ways, at various Fairfax County senior centers. Fitness instructors are needed in: Zumba, Tai Chi, SAIL, Yoga, Silver Sneakers, aerobics, cardio drumming, and other types, too. Flexible! There are many more opportunities to provided support, too.

Mission Statement

The Fairfax Area Agency on Aging (AAA) serves older adults, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers in Fairfax County and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church. The goal of the AAA is to improve quality of life and promote independent living for older adults. We are a partnership of Department of Family Services, Neighborhood and Community Services and the Health Department.


Our mission is to support older adults and adults with disabilities in a variety of ways. We provide volunteer services to help people to remain in their own homes/communities and improve their quality of life.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Flexible timeframe, usually 1 hour, once or twice per week, weekdays, between 9am-3 or 4pm.
  • A 1 hour virtual orientation and background checks
