Trail Patrol

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Spend part of your summer hiking the beautiful Timpanogos Cave trail. This 1.5 mile long trail is incredibly popular and trail patrol VIPs spend their time encouraging hikers to the top, providing information on the plant and wildlife, and providing the occasional first-aid to a visitor in need.

This position can be strenuous if the VIP elects to work multiple days per week or hike the trail multiple times per day. The trail is paved and there are benches along the way but that does not negate the difficulty or steepness of the trail.

A trail patrol VIP is required to carry water, a radio, and a first-aid kit. First-aid/CPR training is highly recommended and will be provided to the volunteer by the park.

The park is requested that each ViP work with the park to create a regular schedule to allow for full staffing at all times.
