fun, friends, and fresh air

You are an unappreciated genius.

You've got DIY projects bookmarked in Youtube. You go to Instructables.com and Makeuseof.com You spend hours on diy sites and craft sites.

You have no room left for crafts at home. You keep offering to make things with your 3d printer, but no one ever follows through. Once a week someone asks if you aren't related to Rube Goldberg. You scan the neighborhood on trash day, and have your go to places for free materials. When you walk into Home Depot, someone comes out to push your cart and get any answers you need. You never think

We can use your skills. We need some custom devices that can be made with scrap material over a weekend. The minute you see them, you will decide you can make them better.

Your talent is unappreciated. Friends say you are talented, but suddenly run out of space when you want to give them something you've made. You get lots of nods and hear, "that's nice."

How long has it been since someone really appreciated you? We can use your help. Drop us a note. You can help us build community, improve the environment, educate, and pull C02 from the air.

About Cascade Patch Community Garden

Location:

Thomas & Minor, Seattle, WA 98109, US

Mission Statement

We are one of 88 Community Gardens run by the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods. We have created an urban oasis in the middle of South Lake Union for individuals to produce healthy food, interact, build community and provide recreational opportunities.

Description

Each gardener leases a small plot from the city for their own use and puts in extra time to maintain the entire garden and community areas. If you are interested in your own plot search for Seattle P-Patch on the Internet.

We need additional volunteers to help maintain the food we raise for the food banks, and for the common areas. It's a quiet place to have lunch, or where some friends meet for tai chi, and an escape from concrete boxes nearby. Your help is needed to keep up this public garden, demonstrate good land use, prevent run-off, and provide habitat for native bees and songbirds.

Check out our monthly work parties as listed on the shed, or let us coordinate a day for your group.
